ELNEC: End of Life Nursing Education Consortium
The ELNEC core curriculum has been developed to prepare qualified nurse educators to provide end-of-life education for nursing students and practicing nurses, and to provide resources to facilitate that instruction. These educators in turn will use the curriculum to integrate end-of-life content for students in undergraduate nursing programs, and offer staff development/continuing education programs for clinical nurses who provide end-of-life care. http://www.eperc.mcw.edu/links/link_ce.htm
PERT: Palliative Care Education Resource Team for Nursing Homes
PERT an educational research project funded by the National Cancer Institute (a division of the NIH) and supported by Swedish Medical Center. The goal of the PERT Program is to enhance end-of-life care in long-term care facilities. To achieve this goal, the PERT Program has developed a comprehensive curriculum of educational materials and resources. This curriculum is delivered through a series of interactive classes to licensed nursing staff and certified nursing assistants working in nursing homes.
The PERT Curriculum contains a wealth of resources, made available as easy-to-use PowerPoint presentations and PDF documents.
