  • Launched Gerontology Focus section of NANMT Web site
  • Expanded geriatric continuing education through two day annual meeting dedicated to care of older adults
  • Increased capacity of geriatric committee

 

Publications and Position Statements

 

  • Included a section in the Spring 2006 publication of NANMT News entitled "Geriatric Focus."

Education Modules, Programs and LearningTools

  • Developed a geriatric massage continuing education program. Presented a Continuing Conference
    • May 19-20, 2006 in Orlando, Fl. entitled "Attuning to the Elder Patient: Quality of Life for the Quality Years."
  • Identifying members eligible to sit for a geriatric certification exam.
  • Created geriatric section on NANMT's website entitled "Gerontology Focus." http://nanmt.org/gerontologyfocus.html
  • Creating a designated geriatric email distribution group to facilitate information dispersal.
